The All Progressives Congress (APC) today flagged off its campaign for the 19 September governorship election in Edo State.
Despite fears of the coronavirus pandemic, crowd trooped out to support the party and its candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
He will be slugging it out with incumbent, Godwin Obaseki, who only recently decamped from the APC to the to PDP.
The rally at the Sports Complex of University of Benin, was well attended by party chieftains from outside the state, including governors of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu; Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola; Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.
Others are Kebbi State governor and chairman of APC Governor’s Forum, Atiku Bagudu; Kaduna State governor, Nasir el Rufai; Niger State governor, Abubakar Bello; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amechi; Kogi State deputy governor, Edward Onoja; former Edo State deputy governor, Pius Odubu and a host of others.
