Hon Princewill Odiari, the Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Rivers State and a strong loyalist of Governor Nyesom Wike, has died from Covid-19 complications.
The council boss passed on Wednesday night and was buried on Thursday morning at the Port Harcourt cemetary.
Expressiveinfo reliably gathered that Odiari fell sick few days ago and was receiving treatment at a medical facility (name withheld) in the state without knowing he was positive for the dreaded virus.
Our source who was very close to Odiari revealed that his sample was later sent for COVID-19 test when his ailment persisted and the symptoms became clear. He was then moved to a medical facility in Port Harcourt. Unfortunately, his result came back the evening of Wednesday, hours before he died.
Now, fear has gripped the entire Asari Tolu LGA, especially those in Buguma, because the late LGA Chairman was said to have mingled with a lot of people recently before he started feeling sick. Even the medical team that was managing him before he was moved to Port Harcourt are all in panic mood and scared for their families.
