The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has been dethroned by the Kano State Government.
The removal of Sanusi was announced by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, at the State Executive Council meeting on Monday.
According to him, a new emir would soon be appointed.
Meanwhile, pandemonium had broken out earlier today at the Kano State House of Assembly as lawmakers fought over the lingering crisis between the state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
The lawmakers were seen in a video engaging in a free-for-all. During the fight, security men were seen struggling to rescue the mace.
