The Nigeria’s new football kit for 2020 was on Wednesday unveiled by sportswear giants, Nike.
The new home and away Super Eagles and Super Falcons jerseys are being revealed ahead of Eagles 2021 Africa Cup of Nations match-day three home qualifying encounter against Sierra Leone.
Nike extended its deal in 2018 with the NFF and are eager to design another set of jerseys for the three-time African champions.
Nike senior director, Heidi Burgett, shared images showing the jersey via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.
He tweeted, “The home kit’s hand-drawn design fuses the traditional aesthetic of an agbada robe with modern football design.
“Away kit trim is inspired by Onaism. A broader collection of Super Eagles apparel includes a poncho, vest, dress, and more.”
Recall that the currently used jersey which will soon go into extinction won the best jersey of the 2018 World Cup. The black, white, and neon green chevron shirts were so popular when Nike released the design in February, 2018 that 3 million people preordered the $90 shirts, which sold out in stores in literal minutes.
Nickname the “Naija,” the shirts feature zigzags that are a reference to an eagle’s wings in flight.
