The Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was booed and disgraced on Saturday night while delivering a speech on the stage at the 6th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The minister who was invited as a guest was called on to deliver his speech in the middle of the event but he was booed by a section of the crowd as he appeared from backstage.
The section of the crowd dominated by youths who sat in the regular ticket section started booing him, drowning his voice and causing him to render his speech almost inaudibly.
Inside the video, some people in the crowd could be heard shouting “go and sit down”, “liar”, “na lie” among other derogatory calls amidst the boos, jeers and catcalls.
Alhaji Lai Mohammed was seen leaving the hall and headed straight for his waiting vehicle. He was seen off by some officials of AFRIMA who walked with him briskly to the exit immediately after the speech.
