Nigerian Army renames ‘Operation Python Dance’ exercise in South-East to ‘Atilogwu Udo’

The Nigerian Army says it has changed the name of one of its ongoing internal security exercises, Operation Python Dance otherwise called Egwu Eke in the South-East region to Atilogwu Udo.

The Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Col Aminu Iliyasu, stated this in a press release saying, ‘the exercise, which covers the SouthEast region of the country, is designed to combat criminal activities including kidnappings, armed robbery, inter-cult and communal clashes among other sundry crimes’.

The annual training exercise commenced in 2016 and has consistently recorded remarkable successes since its introduction. Atilogwu Udo is an Igbo expression which can be translated as dance of peace.
