A video that captured the moment a fight broke out between elders and youths in a local government area in Anambra state has emerged online.
According to reports, the incident took place at Ogbunka Aguata, where a young man intending to marry a young lady in the area submitted a goat as part of the traditional marriage rites.
It was gathered that as per tradition, the goat should be handed to the elders of the community. However, it was quite the opposite on this very day, when the youths revolted and struggled to keep the goat for themselves.
In the video clip which has now gone viral, the two groups can be seen dragging the goat between each other, so they can slaughter and eat.
However, instead of sharing, each group wanted the animal for themselve and it resulted in a heated moment all captured on camera.
Many social media users who have come across the video have tied the behaviour of both parties involved in fighting for the animal to poverty. Some have stated that the youths are angry that they are left out of such benefits and the elders are hungry and will rather keep all for themselves.
